Growth into Christ’s likeness requires both intentionality and community. Formation Groups provide an opportunity to go deeper, both with God and with other people. Groups of 4-5 people meet twice a month for nine months utilizing a meeting framework that includes time for prayer, sharing about life, discussion of book excerpts and podcasts, and the practice of spiritual disciplines.
Neighborhood Groups are the primary way to form community at Trinity and practice being the church in our local contexts. We have created Formation Groups because we also recognize the need to connect in smaller groups for seasons of greater intentionality, vulnerability, and growth.
Our hope for a Formation Group is that participants would cultivate sustainable rhythms, bolstered by trusted friendships, which promote attentiveness to the activity of God, growth into the character of God, and participation in the work of His Kingdom. Put simply, our growth into Christ’s likeness is ultimately for the sake of others. So this inner work is meant to prepare folks for the outward work in which God calls all of us to engage.
