The annual Lazarus Super Bowl Party is happening soon! Volunteers will gather once again with our friends experiencing homelessness at SafeHouse Outreach (89 Ellis St. NE) on Super Bowl Sunday to hang out, enjoy some delicious chili, watch the big game together and potentially talk some trash!
We need volunteers to help out in a number of ways to make this the great event that it is. First and foremost, Lazarus is looking for volunteers to make chili to share with everyone. We aren’t doing the cook-off competition like we’ve done in the past, but encourage folks to still make a mean pot of chili, so break out that family recipe! Feel free to bring cornbread or other sides that can add to the chili.
Volunteers can also help out in areas like setup, beverage service, registration, hospitality, bringing desserts, and clean-up. Your presence makes a difference in the lives of our friends facing homelessness, and we hope that you will join us and our community for the Super Bowl. Even if you can only stay for the first quarter or first half, that time with our friends will have an impact.
This event will take place both inside SafeHouse and outside in their parking lot, so the weather won't be an issue. The fun will kick off at 5pm!
