The current federal government shutdown has disrupted federal food assistance benefits (SNAP), impacting people in our congregation and surrounding neighborhoods who rely on this support to meet their daily needs.
If you are personally facing challenges due to the disruption of benefits, please reach out to care@atltrinity.org — our care team would be honored to connect with you and offer support during this season.
To meet the needs in our larger community, Trinity is partnering with PAWKids and Peace Prep, two of our faithful ministry partners serving the Westside, to help people experiencing food insecurity during this time. Together, we have an opportunity to reflect Christ’s compassion and generosity to our neighbors in need.
If you’re able, we invite you to join us in being the hands and feet of Jesus in two main ways:
Donate Food
Over the next two Sundays (11/9 & 11/16), we’ll be collecting specific food items for our ministry partners. You can drop donations at Trinity in the bins located by the main entrances to both the upper and lower buildings.
Requested items include:
Canned goods (beans, vegetables, etc.)
Plain carb or grain bases (white rice, pasta, oatmeal)
Ready-made meals (scalloped potatoes, stuffing, etc.)
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Donate Funds
In addition to the food drive, you can donate funds through November 16. Contributions will go directly toward providing material assistance and gift cards for our partners to distribute to people in need.
