Trinity enjoys the opportunity to celebrate and take part in the marriages of folks in our community. Please read all of the information below before filling out a wedding request form. Only one member of the engaged couple is required to fill out this request form. For any questions regarding the premarital process, please email us.

Requirements for involving Trinity in your wedding

There are three ways to involve Trinity in your wedding: using Trinity's sanctuary, using one of our officiating pastors, and/or participating in our Premarital Mentoring Program.

Involvement in weddings and marriages is one way in which Trinity pastors and lay leaders care for and invest in the people who call Trinity home. Therefore, it’s essential that at least one of the two to be married is someone who has named Trinity as his or her home church, is and plans to continue participating in the life of the church, and is a Trinity member (or is committed to moving towards membership).

In addition, the bride and groom must each:

  1. Complete the Trinity Premarital Questionnaire and email it to us. You will be sent these once you fill out the Wedding Request below!

  2. Complete the Prepare/Enrich Assessment (will be sent to you along with additional information about the premarital process after you each send back your completed Premarital Questionnaire)

  3. Attend together at least one meeting with a Trinity pastor (will be scheduled after receipt of your Questionnaires)

  4. Either participate together in Trinity’s Premarital Mentoring Program or do premarital counseling with an approved pastor or counselor

We seek to spread the load evenly among our officiating pastors, so we ask any couple who would like a Trinity pastor to officiate to be open to any of our officiating pastors. Please be advised that Trinity pastors do not typically officiate out of town weddings or weddings on Sundays or holidays, so we cannot guarantee to accommodate this kind of request. We also cannot guarantee to accommodate requests that are made within 5 months of the wedding date.

Please note that the 5-month window starts once both the bride and groom have returned their Premarital Questionnaires – completion of this online form alone does not initiate our timeline.

Premarital Mentoring Program

Trinity offers a Premarital Mentoring program, the goals of which are twofold: first, we want engaged couples in our church to establish friendships with other married couples who will come to know them well and be there as a connection point as they begin to navigate life together; second, we want to provide a hospitable and safe environment within which engaged couples can reflect deeply on their own personal and family history, their shared desire for marriage, and what life together might look like.  There are four premarital mentoring meetings prior to the wedding, and one 6-month follow-up meeting. Participation in the Premarital Mentoring program is not a requirement for involving Trinity in your wedding. However, if you choose to opt out of Premarital Mentoring, then we require that you and your partner do premarital counseling with an approved pastor or counselor.

We must receive your completed Questionnaires within 5 months of your wedding date in order to guarantee a spot in our Premarital Mentoring Program.

Fees

Please note that weddings are not a part of our pastoral staff’s normal working hours, so there is a fee of $400 as a way to honor their time and commitment. This helps cover pre-wedding meetings and time given during the weekend of the wedding.

If you choose to participate in Trinity’s Premarital Mentoring Program, the fee for this program is $100.

Please let us know if either of these fees creates a financial burden.
