Jesus is always inviting us towards more freedom, wholeness, and integration, so part of what it means to follow Jesus is to take steps toward wellness in all aspects of our lives. We host quarterly Wellness Workshops where we invite a subject matter expert to speak and invite conversation around wellness topics like anxiety & depression, finances, grief, and forgiveness. See our Events page for upcoming Workshops, and see below for recordings of past workshops.

Spiritual Friendship

2025 - Saturday, September 13

Description:
C4SO's Suffragan Bishop Brian Wallace will be leading Trinity in a workshop about spiritual friendship. Come learn about the gift of having deep spiritual friends and the importance of engaging God in community.  There will be time to grow, reflect and practice together. This is an ideal space for neighborhood groups, mentors and mentees, ministry teams, couples, and close friends to learn and explore together how to move in relationships to new levels of trust. The workshop will be a combination of teaching from Bishop Brian mixed with smaller discussion and practice groups.

Intro to StoryWork

2024 - Saturday, October 5

Description:
What does it mean that you have a story? How is your story impacting your present-day life and relationships? How can going back to difficult moments in your childhood bring increasing freedom and healing in your adulthood? And how does work with your story tie into what it means to follow Jesus and become more like him?

Perhaps you've heard about Trinity's Story Groups and are curious to learn more about this concept of story work and what happens in these groups. We believe Jesus is inviting each of us to take our story more seriously, so this workshop is for anyone who wants to begin to consider more seriously God's question to Hagar: "Where have you come from, and where are you going?"

Grief

2023 - Saturday, November 4

Description:
In the wake of All Saints Day, where we remember those who have gone before us, and in advance of the holidays, where so much of what we have lost (or never gained) is amplified, it becomes more difficult to ignore that we all have experienced or are currently experiencing loss. Perhaps we even feel invited to begin to engage our grief around those losses. But what constitutes a loss? And what does “grieving well” even look like? And how do we honor and bear witness to the grief of others?

Anxiety & Depression

2023 - Saturday, March 25

Description:
Anxiety and depression affect us all at some point in our lives. This workshop aims to help us better understand what they are and why we might be experiencing them. We will also discuss ways in which we can connect to our anxiety and depression in order to experience healing and recovery. Whether you are experiencing anxiety and depression or just want to learn more on behalf of those around you, we hope to see you there!

Forgiveness

2021 - Sunday, September 17

Description:
Our Wellness Workshop on Forgiveness took place during the Easter season of 2021. Jason and Amy discussed what it really means for us to be forgiven people. They also discussed some big questions around forgiveness: Why was Jesus' death required for our forgiveness? And when it comes to our relationships, what does it mean to forgive? What does it NOT mean? And why can forgiveness be so difficult?

Description:
It goes without saying that COVID took a toll on all kinds of relationships, and marriages in particular have felt a lot of strain. As we begin to re-emerge into the "new normal," what does it look like for spouses to create safe space between them, to move towards one another with curiosity and kindness, to strengthen their connection with each other, and to revisit tender spots and repair ruptures? And how can our marriage relationships increasingly become something that blesses the people around us?

Join Monica DiCristina and Katie Gohde as they share insights and strategies to help us better understand ourselves, our marriages, and how we stay safe and connected with those closest to us

Loneliness & Connection

2020 - Sunday, November 8

Description:
Loneliness—the sense of being excluded, disconnected, or unseen—is not a rare experience. A pre-COVID 2020 study by Cigna showed that 61% of Americans identify as feeling lonely, and the prolonged pandemic reality has no doubt increased that percentage. Therefore this workshop is for anyone, whether single or married with a dozen kids, who has experienced or knows someone who has experienced loneliness and a longing for deeper connection—especially in the landscape of COVID-19.

We will explore how to compassionately navigate the difficulty of being a people created with a deep ache for true connection while also living in a world where separation, isolation, and disconnection are sometimes an inevitable reality. This workshop will be experiential and meditative with an emphasis on paying attention to and honoring our bodies and our emotions. We will also hear from others in our community speak about how they have navigated the complexities of loneliness and connection during the pandemic, and give optional time at the end for breakout discussions and connections.

How Family Shapes You

2020 - Saturday, June 27

Description:
Pete Scazzero, the founder of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality says, "Jesus may be in your heart, but grandpa is in your bones. This is so true for many of us, particularly now in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis and the racial tension in our nation. We love Jesus, and yet continue find ourselves stuck in unhelpful family or cultural patterns of behaving and believing.

Join us as Michael Peppers, LAPC helps us begin to see and break free from these patterns through a powerful tool called the genogram. You will receive the link for joining the Zoom meeting upon registering.

Engaging Emotions

2019 - Saturday, June 1

Description:
As we lean into the Easter promise of resurrection and new life, we understand that new beginnings often stir up unsettled feelings. We love the idea of new beginnings, but we are often uncomfortable with being beginners and with the work of starting over. This workshop will give us space and tools to learn how to identify and engage our emotions in practical and redemptive ways. It is our hope that we will begin to see our emotions as a vital part of the transformative process. This workshop will be lead by Licensed and Professional Coach, Michael Pepper.
