Story Groups

Story Groups are a safe, nurturing, and redemptive small group space to explore and begin to find healing in your story.

Find healing through your story.

Emotional wounds sustained early in life still impact us today: they shape how we relate to God, ourselves, and others, and they keep us bound to coping skills, defensive mechanisms, and patterns of relating that limit our ability to love and be loved in the way God intends for us. God wants to bring more freedom in our lives by healing those wounds, and he invites us to participate in this healing process. But because God heals in the particular, we are invited to go with him to those particular places where we have been wounded, places that are so often found in the stories of our life.

Trinity Story Groups provide a safe, nurturing, and redemptive space to explore and give weight to aspects of your story that have played a significant role in shaping who you are today. Doing this deep work in trusted community and in the presence of the Holy Spirit can begin a process of significant healing. And in addition, you are invited to participate in the healing of others as you learn and practice the skills of attentive listening and kind engagement of group members’ stories.

Join a Story Group

Story Groups meet twice a year in the fall and spring. They are led by two trained facilitators and meet 9 times over the course of 4 months (generally every other week) for 2½ hours each meeting. Participants commit to writing one particular childhood story, which they will read to the group twice over the course of the 9 meetings, inviting reflection and feedback from fellow group members. In addition, participants will work through workbook content, which will aid in the helpful and kind engagement of their own story as well as the stories of others.

Applications for Spring 2026 Groups are now closed.
